Those who think being redpilled is to be a racist, sexist, homophobe or any kind of bigot is ENTIRELY missing the point of what it means to be redpilled. Being redpilled is to be against anyone being too quick to brand someone a bigot just for having a dissenting opinion. Being redpilled is the realization that both political persuasions, right and left, have problems to sort out. Some right wingers are loony tunes and some left wingers are hypocrites. Every village has its idiots. I might be no winner myself but a thing can be true regardless of whose mouth it comes from.

You may be interested in the group libertarian agnostics. Even if you aren't one yet, you can rationally discuss the ideas therein.

Agreed, thank you for voicing this ever so obvious, yet simultaneously, so incredibly misunderstood concept. To be honest I've never actually seen this concept voiced so accurately. If you don't mind, I'd like to use this to potentially help about half of America understand.

Is this about the matrixx?? ??

Never having heard the term, I looked up "being red pilled" on Urban dictionary:

"Usually means that a Liberal has become more right winged."

Sounds like you are stereotyping and generalizing about groups of people. Stereotypes are incorrect.

As a Democrat in a Republican-dominated town, I treat all people with kindness and respect.

Given your propensity to assume the motives of others, I find your last sentence incredibly difficult to believe. Then again, that is literally second nature to dems.

@Aquaman "Given your propensity to assume the motives of others,.....Then again, that is literally second nature to dems.".... You did just see what you wrote there....right?

@Aquaman

You don't believe I treat people with respect and kindness. Why not? My goals is to be kind to people.

People who have known me for decades say I am a kind person.

With a bachelor degree in psychology, I do try to understand people's motives. One of my best friends is a Republican whose son is a gun enthusiast obsessed with hunting, and whose parents are Republicans. She does not keep up with national news.

I love her anyway.

She believes Christine Blasey Ford was lying in the Kavanaugh Supreme Court hearings.

Kameon: "She was lying! She couldn't remember everything that happened. When I was assaulted, I remember everything in detail!!"

Me: "Dr. Blasey has a Ph.D. in psychology. She patiently explained brain science to the male senators: how traumatic memories are permanently inscribed in the brain. Kavanaugh assaulted Blasey 30 years ago. Of course she doesn't remember every little detail.

"f your daughter was raped, would you believe her?"

Kameon: "Yes, I would. I still think Blasey was lying."

Me: "Well, let's agree to disagree. Let's drop the subject, okay?"

@LiterateHiker i know this post is over a month old and common sense would insist on dropping it, but i don't visit this site often and just wanted to quickly reply. I commented on your motives because you seem to have read precisely 2 words from his post and rather than reading the rest of it, which was the antithesis of stereotyping, you sought an outside source, then responded to him as if he said anything remotely close to what you ascribed to him.. the irony is palpable. And my comment about your last sentence was directly attributable to the fact that if you go around assuming people are doing/saying things they aren't, I don't know about you but in my experience, it's not generally well taken. Sorry again about the late reply.

@LizBeth indeed I do, do you see the things you do too?

I have never heard the terms red pilled or blue pilled prior to this post and I am not cloistered and out of touch. I have a feeling that the usage is not as common or as wide spread as you allude to. It may be that you got caught up in a situation where you found the group that are familiar with the terminology which lead to others of that ilk weighing in. Or perhaps I am just more out of touch that I realize.
