Well, it is pretty ridiculous to be overly PC about everything to the point where you can't even talk comfortably but it goes both ways sometimes. Just today I had to Email someone. It's December 23rd right now. So what do you say? Happy holidays? No, you can't say that without people getting offended. Seriously, some people actually get seriously offended that you didn't say Merry Christmas because there's a war on Christmas and all that. Okay so Merry Christmas. What if he's a Jew? I'm sure he wouldn't be too offended but it would still be nice to have a phrase that just covers everyone. So stop being such whiny little snowflakes and that goes double for you conservatives.

Rick Perry, while governor of texasstan, signed a bill that would prevent the ACLU from prosecuting people who said "Christmas Tree." That is true sickness.

I believe that one of the greatest faults with political correctness is that it demands to speak for everyone which in turn denies the individual for who is dealing with their own life a voice.

And in some cases those who have chosen to use political correctness as a weapon have actually injured those for they were meant to protect.

I have friends and associates of many different colors and sexual orientations and for the most part they appreciate it more when people don’t go out of their way to not offend them because it simply puts a mine field in the middle of the conversation.

And the worst part of political correctness to me is the passive aggressive social shaming that goes on and most of the time no one waits to find out what was said but only what they thought they’d heard.

Honestly the behavior is as ignorant as those who are white conservative racist. Just saying that there’s no communication only assumption and attack.
And he’s right the rest of us that are caught in between all of this bullshit get the worst of it because how it affects our daily lives. Too sad really that people want power so bad that they’re willing to grab at anything that they can.

I like Stephen Fry and I agree that a lot of people are addicted to being right and overreact, but I still don't understand political correctness being anywhere near the top of consequential concerns in our society. So many better causes to waste breath on than "I gotta watch my mouth around some people."

Comedians are a unique profession who have a legit cause to complain about PC expectations taken too far on them occasionally, which is more than anyone else, but I don't understand why any other average white guy cares if some group on twitter roasts them. What is it that anyone wants to say so badly but feels bullied out of the freedom to? Is it possible that it was unkind to say and the very new expectation of being asked to think before we speak is too much to ask of us white people? Is it that the N word is so fun to sing, or that we miss callin shit retarded, or do we miss the golden age when dames were broads or what?

I have a dark as fuck sense of humor but PC culture hasn't restricted me in one single way from saying something that I wanted to. You follow the same rules you always should have and don't make jokes that would likely be taken the wrong way to people you arent familiar enough with, like any decent person would, and there's no issue. Problem solved, merry christmas!

The vast majority of progressives really arent askin for that much. The shit about gingerpersons is a made up outrage tactic, as are many of the most ludicrous sounding headlines, to get people to not take trans they/them pronouns seriously and dismiss the few basic changes that actually are being rightly demanded. Reality tv and avante gard audience trolling is blending with news and making people afraid of angry mobs that don't exist. In reality there's just a bunch of different kinds of exasperated people, asking that we treat and speak of em as such. I dunno about you but that's not too much to ask of me.

it is all about free speech.

@Jacar right. And I havent seen a single example of free speech being abridged by political correctness. Everyone is free to say whatever shithead thing they want. They're not free from public reaction to saying some shithead thing, nor were they ever. Nothing has changed other than the amount of people who have to take racial and sexual harassment from white men with a grin. That number is going down and its very telling how many of us can't handle having to watch our mouths around other demographics half as much as they historically had to watch theirs around us.

@Wurlitzer . . . Examples: a google engineer posits that the reason there are not more women engineers at google is because they don't want to be there, which is an observation based in decades of research, and he is fired.

Same thing happens at CERN. Even though the management there acknowledges that despite all their efforts women are only 20% of all those working there. CERN can pick from millions from every country. Yet,...

All the deplatforming that is occurring. Including the debacle at Patreon. And the subsequent anti-trust action by paypal do defund subscribestar, a patreon competitor. The reasons to cancel akkad's account do not conform to their rules of service. But, obviously akkad is too far right. So they make up shit based upon their feelings offence.

People like Richard Dawkins are invited to speak on campuses, but then the regressive lefters, and antifa, demand the cancelation of his invitation by threatening to protest by invading the room hosting the presentation. (Dozens of these examples.)

The insanity that occurred at Evergreen College about two years ago: true anarchy as the result of the president and his ilk demanding complete compliance to the new rules of conformity.

The craziness in canada with bill c-16 compelling speech. Peterson got fired because he opposed the bill, not because of the fake news about nis behavior.

At harvard a girl took offence because she did not like a statement by a fellow student presented in a video and accused the teacher of not providing a "safe place" to protect her feelings. A month of insane investigations followed.

A good presentation by gad saad:

I've been listening to Bill Burr recently. Him and Jim Jefferies are way not PC.

The regressives don't understand satire. sad for all of us.
