Yes, but most of them don't have a mental disorder.

Don't you think that blind faith on something that can't be proven . never was seen is equivalent to mental disorder? I do.

@DUCHESSA No, I wouldn't consider it a mental disorder, but I guess it depends on how "mental disorder" is defined. In many cases, like my own until I was in my late 20s, I think it is a lack of education, a lack of critical thinking skills, evading contradictions, and difficulty in overcoming what was taught as truth for most of life.

@sfvpool If a person was born without common sense / the ability to reason...the other things you mention will not matter.

This video may help.

.

@DUCHESSA I'm sorry, but I couldn't help laughing when watching that video. Yes, maybe she has a mental disorder. But, my above answer to the question posed in the thread was, "Yes, but most of them don't have a mental disorder." I still don't think that most religious people have a mental disorder.

I have a customer who, when talking about his religion, every few sentences blurts out, "Oh lord Jesus" and shakes (which makes it very difficult for me to hold in my laughter). Otherwise, in his business dealings, he is very rational. I don't think he has a mental disorder. If anything, I think he's a con artist.

If you include religious beliefs in mental disorders, I would also include some of modern philosophy that teaches there is no reality and that's everything is in our heads.

@sfvpool Don't worry...I laughed all the way to Tipperary. I am surprised you don't see the impact of religion on this girl's brain....and the "estúpidos" around allowing her to keep going tells me she is not not the only wacko in her school.

@sfvpool Is not that "U include" but to believe in the existence of an entity nobody ever saw requires a mental disorder.

@DUCHESSA Religious people use many rationalizations for their beliefs. In fact, today I read an article from a conservative website that addressed the issue of belief in the existence of an entity that nobody ever saw. They used the example of the belief in Socrates, who no one today has seen. Of course that evades the fact that Socrates never claimed to be magic and above the laws of nature. Or, that there is even some doubt that Socrates existed and some historians believe he may have been a fictitious creation of Plato.

Very much so.

In my opinion almost everyone is delusional in one way or another. Most atheists believe in global warming and/or marxism, both of which have no more empirical support than Christianity.

You sound like a conservative. You may want to join us on the conservative group on this website.

Conservative atheist group.

@Trajan61 I'm not an atheist, so I won't join a group with that name.

@doug6352 Even if your Christain your still welcome to join us in the conservative atheist group.

@doug6352 We conservatives are a lot more accepting of the Christains than most of the liberals on this website as we realize the conservatives can’t win elections without support from the Christain religous right wing.

@Trajan61 I'm not a Christian, I'm an agnostic. Are there any groups for agnostics on agnostic.com ? LOL

@doug6352 I thought they were about the same. ?

Of course they are. Religious faith is a mental illness. Delusion is a symptom of
mental illness. Case closed.

Please, lusten to the entire video.

Interesting video. I totally agree with what it says but unfortunately most people do not. I’ve never understood how people can be so delusional about religion. Why do people believe in something that there’s no scientific evidence even exist. It just blows my mind.

Absolutely
