For those of a certain age what do you prefer Mersey Sound or Motown. For our non British friends Mersey Sound is the mainly four man pop group sound, 1963-65, such as Beatles, Searchers, Gerry and the Pacemakers predominantly from Liverpool.

I was born and raised in Motown. Lived around the block from Stevie Wonder and The Temptations shopped at my dad's store. So I'm Motown through and through. However, the Beatles are still the best ever and Gerry and the Pacemakers' Ferry Cross the Mersey and Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying will never leave my head. So I'm going to give it a 60-40% for Motown because it's more danceable.
I have to admit when I was in Australia in 1990 I was shocked to hear Motown just about every place I went and I thought they were kind of behind the times and maybe Motown just hit there haha

Both produced great music. As Duke Ellington said, "There are two kinds of music, good and bad."
