Do you all participate in Christmas celebration and how? If not, what do you do?
In my immediate family, we swap gifts and drink. In my extended family, we eat, and have to listen to a prayer first. I participate.
This sure does seem to be a recurring topic / question. My wife and I pretty much ignore Christmas. My stepson lives with us, and he does too, but alas, he usually visits his Dad over the holidays and has to put up with their holiday oblations.
It's a day off work, and we take the excuse to make a nice home cooked meal and otherwise vegetate the day away, but that's about the extent of it.
We are enjoying our winter Yuletide behavior patterns, patterns established in dim prehistoric eras.
No I am not thinking about the birth of Jesus of Nazareth. I hear he was a pretty good guy, however everyone is born and dies at some point. The position of the earth in its orbit at somebody’s birth is a trivial and superficial bit of information and is of no interest.
