Is anyone else surprised with the amount of people on this site who believe in pseudoscience and/or mystical practices/theories?

Not at all. My opinions and expectations of humans are not that high.

I guess I was just thrown off guard from a comment on a post that stated "critical analysis is not the b all of the truth". I mean wtf? I didn't want to be confrontational, but I thought critical thinking and actual evidence is the only way to separate fact from fiction? I have found the majority of the comments and subject matter of posts on this site to be intellectual and based in logic/reason, which is quite refreshing. On the other hand there are some responses and comments that make me question the rationale of members on this site. From my understanding the reason for questioning or denying the existence of a god in lack of variable proof or evidence, yet numerous times I've read responses and comments on subjects that have been debunked countless times by scientists and/or skeptics. Long story short, I guess I was under the impression that agnostic/atheist types were less susceptible to hokus-pokus and pseudoscience. To each their own, but don't get offended or butt hurt when science based facts and factual statistics get thrown back at you.

@ScienceBiker, you make a very valid point. One would think that following that logic there would be millions of atheist/agnostics added to the fold every day lol. Our side would pick up thousands upon thousands every superbowl and world series alone haha. Personally I'll take logic and reason over "thoughts and prayers" any day!
