I have read one theory that posits business trading practices brought morality to religion, rather than the other way around. As an example, in business trading, one must be honest if one wants to keep their customers.
HONESTY. ...
INTEGRITY. ...
PROMISE-KEEPING & TRUSTWORTHINESS. ...
LOYALTY. ...
FAIRNESS. ...
CONCERN FOR OTHERS. ...
RESPECT FOR OTHERS. ...

I feel pity for those with no inner moral compass. How odd it would be to have someone else telling you what is right or wrong...

Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

I'm always more surprised if a believer is actually good....I mean, literally, they have the worst Gawd for a role model and their book of rules sucks the big one.

Fear those who think god will forgive them of any wicked act and hold no inner moral compass.

If only those with god would be good.
Oh the hypocrites of religion.
