My trip to the Bahamas was amazing. As with any trip there where complications but over all an experience I'll never forget. It was my first cruise, first time of out the United States and of course first trip to the Bahamas. It was an amazing way to close out 2018 and for the very first time I spent New Years Eve content.

Going into new year's I refused to set resolutions, instead I chose to spend the two weeks leading up to the new year just trying to do better and get things accomplished because I didn't want to wait until January 1st to set the pace so to speak. I tend to believe that it's better to try to immediately make changes then to put them off as goals.

For me that meant changing from just being a vegetarian to being a "healthy" vegetarian. So I'm focusing on eating fruits and vegetables and yes counting calories. I know some people don't believe in counting calories but here's the thing, counting calories makes you focus on what your intake is and what it's doing for you. Once I got my food choices corrected and set that standard for myself then I added in exercise.

So I decided to focus on 10,000 steps a day, then add some weight lifting, some yoga and even a 30 day sit up, cruch, squat challenge. I don't know if I'll keep it all up but I do know for now I feel good and I'll keep trying to change it up until I don't feel it's sustainable.

Tomorrow is the first day back to school with students. (Was supposed to be last Thursday but the school flooded over break so only staff went back Thursday and Friday) I question whether I'll have the energy to make it through the day without coffee (For the last 3 weeks I've only had water) or if I can make it through the day without snacks. Because my students are hellions and make my stress levels go through the roof. It's been reletively easy to make all these changes to my habits while I wasn't working but tomorrow and the whole week will be the real test.

I'd love to hear y'alls resolutions or if your like me life changes. And I'm adding pictures from the Bahamas in case like me y'all are dreaming of a island paradise.

Glad you had a great time!

Looks great... which island where you on? I've been, but only to the western most island for a day. It was fun to be in Britain for a day.

The island was New Providence, specifically Nassau. The big staircase in one of my pictures was the Queen's staircase.
