I honestly think religion should be taught. In history, as human evolution. Not as a belief but how it was made up.

I have no problem with classes that teach a religion from a secular perspective at higher institutions of learning. I have no problem with comparative religion study classes as long as they approach it from a secular perspective.

But the classes being pushed are not secular.

The crazy part of this is that these legislators would balk if the classes taught religion from a Mormon perspective, that of the Amish, Greek or Russian Orthodox and probably Catholic perspective, even though they are Christian.

Why? Well, duh. The legislators want it taught from a mainstream Protestant, evangelical perspective.

I can only imagine how they would blanch if their precious class were taught by a teacher that believed in handling a rattlesnake as a part of religious services and in class. But, hey, it’s still Christian.

(Idiots who want religion in schools never think past their Bible.)

@Rob1948 totally agree. As much as I don't like religion there are things to be learnt from them. You have to believe in something. A greater good. Even though what they teach isnt real. Being an atheist comes with its pros and cons to. Like we know that truly deep down that all this doesnt really matter. And knowimg that truth makes it hard to stay determined on the bigger picture. But, we have give our own lives purpose and not everyone is capable of doing that or care to. Thats why religion have such a strong hold on us humans. Cause it does it for us and thats so much easier when things are given to you
