Desperately need help from anyone who knows anything about electrics in UK please? I almost re-jigged FB to ask. Please don't make me have to do that.

My partner (junior school teacher...not very practical) fitted a new light fitting, now it won't turn off. (Its on a dimmer). Now the dimmer switch turns off the kitchen light and none of the other lights work. We are in UK so its different to US. We've checked all the wires and everything looks right. How can this have happened?

Come on people...please. I am too poor to call out an electrician.

Post the question. I'll see if my friend on FB can help. He was an Avionics Tech in the Air Force for years and is pretty handy with electricity Not sure how long it'll take for him to see and reply though.
