I hear so many new people joining the 2020 Presidential race as Democrats, who is closest to Bernie Sanders and AOC?

No more Republican light, I want change and don’t have a lot of decades to wait. I gave it 40 years and its the same old shit show. My number one agenda item is reinstituting pre Reagan progressive tax rates. Other than AOC who isn’t running for President, Who’s advocating this?

Here's a link to all the current and likey candidates and some basic info on them. Most are moderate to corporate democrats, there's a few progressive lites in there but nobody close to Bernie or AOC (except Bernie himself of course). Warren has a great economic background and understands the impact of the big banks and Citizens United but doesn't have hard lines on Universal Healthcare or Federal Minimum Wage or Education For All or Political Finance reform.

People don't understand math, much less taxes or economics. Fox News keeps repeating that AOC wants to tax 70% of your income, and people freak. Hannity (or maybe Tucker, but I'm pretty sure it was Hannity) repeated the 70% lie, played the entire clip where she explains tax brackets, gave the example of every dollar over 10 million taxed at 70%, etc., and STILL ran with "She wants to tax your incomes at 70%" after playing the clip. And what's sad is that his audience probably didn't even notice.

Often poor people in this country are not simply money-poor, but knowledge and education-poor. I can't tell you how many times dirt poor friends/family have complained about minimum wage going up, or "those people" getting hand outs, or how tax cuts for the rich will help everyone. It's like that image from 1984 when the boot is stomping on that face forever, except here it is stomping on the poor and they keep saying they deserve it because...what else is there?

Still assessing the field. I hope it doesn't turn out like the GOP primary with 16 attention seekers.

I am for Bernie but Elizabeth Warren is also a good choice.

Chris Hayes is doing a comparative show on the candidates so far...it might be worth watching to see who they are and what they stand for....

I was a young tax accountant when the big tax reform of 1986 happened...I have totally forgotten what they were like before then...I just know the tax act that was recently passed truly did help those with more money...and since this includes me and most of the people in my age group/tax bracket, it will be interesting to see what the support will be for progressive tax rates even among the most liberal of us...money often speaks louder than values, unfortunately...
