I'm really excited about my day off tomorrow! I will get up early and take the bus to the downtown campus to take my placement test. From what I remember with the one I took when I was 18, it took a few hours. I'm pretty sure I'll be taking the Freshman English and Pre-Algebra again. I never made it into an English class in 2006. I did however take a practice placement test 2 days ago, and I probably will be in the Freshman English class. I will take one class to start out with in the 1st semester of Fall. I want to start out slow, so I don't become too stressed with too many classes and working part time. In my second semester, if I am able to, I'll do 2 classes. Since my taxes are on their way in a week or two, I figured an English class would be easy to pay for. Just the one class. In the future for my next classes, I'll apply for the grant for people with disabilities. I'm hoping the English class isn't over $300. Idk how much it would be? When I'm done with my placement test, I'll go talk to an advisor to get all set up. My transcripts are on the way as of Monday. This is me getting my life back together. I'm done sitting around and dreaming. Now my dreams will become my reality. I'm in a healthy place in my life right now. I do see my med doctor in March. I need to get on a medication to help me focus. Right now I can't focus enough to read a page in a book. I will even explore the college a little while I'm there. I'll find the book store and the library. I'll have lunch there as well. I won't wear my headphones, but only on the bus. I don't know if I need to buy the new Microsoft Office that is currently out? I have Microsoft Office for Students from 2007. I'll ask the advisor tomorrow. I am having a hard time already with having to wait until August for classes. I'm so excited for a new change! I only told people at work once. They all seemed jealous and didn't care. People on FB are happy for me. I'm not going to let life pass me by anymore. I want a career, not a minimum wage paying job forever. I want to be happy again.

I like your battle plan. Sounds like the right attitude.

Congrats! I went back to college at thirty. For six years. Lol. But got two more degrees.

Don’t rule out online classes. Sometimes you can get your core classes done this way. I did all my writing classes online. Also, if you plan on going for a bs/ba, check into transfer degrees. Try to get as many classes at the jr college for the advanced degree, they will usually count for the as/aa/transfer degree and the higher degree. Also, if you get a transfer degree, you do not have to apply for the university. Well, you apply, but no tests, essays, etc.. It’s cheaper, and smaller classes.

What does bs/ba and as/aa mean? Bachelor's and associate's? I want to take the class at the school to meet new people and stuff.

Yes, AA/AS is an Associate degree. And a BA/BS is a Bechelor degree. The A is for Arts and the S is for Science. You need language classes for an arts degree, and you need math classes for a science degree.
Most schools have more than one class to help get you acquainted with how they work. Even the library has one. They are usually only one or two credits.

You’ve got this! Ask anything you need help with. See if your school has a TrIO program, also check out the Women’s Center. @Sarahroo29

@Sarahroo29 actually, if you share a link to the school, I will see what they have to offer and could help focus you.

@Annaleda ppcc.edu

@Annaleda I have not been in school for 12 years. I didn't score too high. I posted about it.
