I can't really fault the people in Spring, TX having lots more security after what happened there, in fact it's probably a must for people to feel like they can participate anymore. Ironically, it is necessarily precisely because their faith in god's protection was violated by that event, even though they had some degree of due diligence of their own already in place, just too disorganized and unsystematic.

To your question, "what happened to faith" is that it didn't work and manifestly doesn't work. People won't admit that, or openly say it, but the fact they feel the need to protect themselves by brute force says it all.
