Well, it will mean the end of humans if one can't find the goods....let alone want them...such a sad prognostication...

Well, maybe now, the genes that don't try to storage and conserve energy will become more common in the gene pool.
We have to remember that 200 or 300 years ago, famin was common, so conserve and store energy was a desired capacity. Now with plenty of food the gene pool will reequilibrate for this new scenario.
Maybe future humans will be able to simply throw out excess energy or speed up metabolism.

I think obese people will have to die before the breed.

I don't think obesity will get to that stage... but it’s a fair point, if AIs don’t take over the world first.
