@Gooniesnvrdie If you look at the top 40, you can see the transition, that was the music of the era, outside the top 40, it got zero air time. To compare the access we have now to the access we had then is an exercise in futility. To just find new music, you had to go to a record store. You had to guess what it would sound like, since very few had a play in store area. Today almost all the music ever performed by decent and some not so decent artists is available at the click of a mouse.

@Gooniesnvrdie You would have had to lived it to understand, there was not access for anyone outside the major cities. You had magazines and radio, that was the extent of your ability to share. Why do you think the musicians flocked to Nashville, Detroit, New York, San Fransisco, LA, and New Orleans? That was where there were other musicians that were innovating.
