I have read about them. The King took it rather personal and sent his own troops. I would be interested to know, if anyone does, what happened to the one, lone survivor, a young child allowed to live. Survivor from the family when they were caught and executed.

Its made up. There is no real evidence to suggest its real at all. In fact a lot of commenters believe it was fabricated to encourage anti-Scottish feelings amongst the English.

The article suggests he was married, which he certainly wasn't.
