In regard to the earlier poll about the opioid epidemic, turn on 60 Minutes right now.
The FDA is also responsible for this.

I never requested this from my doctor, but she told me that if it was legal, she would RX me pot. She said she thinks that would cut down on narcotic dependency, and be safer.

U know what's really sad and stupid ? Now that everyone tries to reverse the bullshit the people who are ACTUALLY IN PAIN , can't get drugs .
Few years ago , pain level made it to be the 5th vital sign . Which is ridiculous !!! Medicare / Medicaid won't pay the bills for hospitals if patients ( we call them clients now !) are get their f survey and say that their pain needs weren't met . Therefore , pain became the 5 th vital sign and every 4 hrs u have to ask " do u have pain ". Narcotics post op or at ER were given like candies !! With " hello ", the response was " here is two percocets ". And if u were admitted , " here is your dilaudid ".
Now that everybody realized what we , the nurse practitioners and the doctors are saying for years , now NOBODY GETS SHIT ! And I get sick folks w acute pancreatitis or a broken ankle and all I can give it's one Percocet every six hrs . Which is also ridiculous ?

I had to spend four days in the hospital with acute pancreatitis.
I hate morphine. It makes me want to vomit.
But that's all they would give me.

@KKGator so wrong ?And probably 2 mg every 4 hrs . I am sorry ? That's exactly what I am talking about . The ones who hurt now can't get anything appropriate Bcz the docs and NP s are afraid to write drugs . I am sorry ?

@Pralina1 Thanks, it's cool. It just sucks for those who are in legitimate pain. This is another reason why I absolutely 100% believe in the complete decriminalization of marijuana, across the board, and in every state.

@KKGator Before my back surgery, they had me hopped up on narcotics 24/7 for about 3 months. Hydrocodone stopped working. Then gave me oxycotin. Then Opana. Opana is like talking 20 hydrocodone at once. I still had to go to the ER several times. They would give me morphene. That stopped working. Upped me to deladen.

A friend of mine has a weird form of gangreen. They used to give him 190 hydrocodone a month. Now he gets 20. He just wants his leg amputated, but VA isn't doing shit because it "isn't combat-related".

They don't give me narcotics anymore. I have 8 hydros left. I only use those for emergencies. Last time I took that was because I had a sinus infection. Took one in the AM, and another at noon. Next day I was fine. Saved me a doctor visit.
