looking for an effective way to help people from a comfortable distance(major introvert). i have free time and reliable transportation. the rules are

  1. im poor so thrifty options are preferable
  2. i just don't want to be around people

Maybe volunteer to deliver hot meals to homebound people. You can use your reliable transportation, and the personal contact required should be minimal.

I think Cutie pegged it... But you could volunteer in a soup kitchen and just stay in the back!

My mom read for the blind for years. That's another idea...

@Renickulous If you want ZERO contact with others... I would suggest reading books for the blind. My mom used to do it on a reel to reel years ago. I assume it all digital now. Hopefully you can read well enough for that. If not, you can practice. Plus you get the learn everything in the books! WIN - WIN

@Renickulous Yes! It is one thing to read braille... Quite another to hear the tonal inflection of a good reader. Yes... I mean that you would read the book to them into a microphone for them to listen to... Think books on tape. Yes... a lot are available online... But those are mostly novels.
