So today is Rare Disease Day...yeah, let's celebrate! Yes sarcasm is healthy. There are quite literally hundreds, maybe even thousands of rare and unusual diseases out there affecting people everyday. I see their suffering every time I go to the doc's. I have polymyositis, a rare autoimmune disease. The doctors can't tell me how I got it, or how to cure it. It would have killed me if not for a double lung transplant. Scientific research has kept me around thus far, yet more is needed, way, WAY more.

I’ve got gastroparesis, paralyzed stomach. I was an RN for 21 years and had never heard of it til I was diagnosed. There’s no cure, and few treatment options.
I’m like the pot that magically kept making porridge from an old fairy tale...except I make vomit!

@Lutherzme Thank you❤️!
I’m glad you got your transplant, that’s awesome. The average person has no idea what a miracle of science and...I hate to say ‘luck’, but timing, goes into getting a transplant.

@Lutherzme ,
