Richard Curtis and Sir Lenny Henry founded the charity Comic relief in 1985 with the intent of raising money for impoverished children and adult all around the world but especially in the African continent.
For 34 years ever two years, (alternating with Sports relief a sister charity) it has held a mammoth telethon combining the efforts of entertainers, sports personalities, politicians of all hues and other famous person, all of who give their time an talents free to raise money, well over a billion pounds so far.
On the event of every telethon three or four ambassadors for the charity visit areas in need and demonstrate what can be done to practically help, many have been so over come they have maintained contact with people and villages they visited and continued to financially support or establish hospitals, school and other amenities.
Until this year.
One of the chosen ambassadors was award winning documentarian Stacey Dooley.
As is perfectly normal for anyone with a paternal or maternal instincts Ms Dooley to comfort her picked up and hugged a small child and was photographed doing so.
The picture is now the centre of a race row, and threatens to over turn and close down Comic Relief.
The BBC is apparently insensitive to send a "White saviour" figure to Africa, to demonstrate the superiority of western society. It is "So wrong" for a "white" woman to pick up a black child and patronise them, by "insinuating that a black society cannot look after itself".
British born, American educated Labour Party politician and lawyer David Lindon Lammy MP has been doing the TV and media rounds saying just this and saying Comic relief is doing good work raising money, but needs to think about HOW it raises money and must cease to do so in a "racist manner" he is on record as saying he would rather no charity money go to the starving than that they be feed by money raised from "colonialist"
The virtue signalling hoards are flocking behind him all Ahem-hemm-ing, and quite so-ing, over their morning Earl Grey tea and fair trade marmalade croissants.
Allowing the knee trembling snowflakes at the BBC to pontificate over whether or not this years Comic relief should be the last one.

Dog forbid that an attractive white woman with perfect teeth should participate in charity work.

Yeah this is where the PC crowd loses me. Especially with the "cut off my nose to spite my own face" concept that he'd rather no $$ go to those in need if it's tainted in some abstract manner. In other words better for them to suffer and die than be helped in ways he doesn't approve.

That's like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez being called a hypocrite for riding in cars while pushing the Green New Deal. It's absurd on its face.
