Theology is keeping people afraid and dense. How do we change society to a true learning life style? people like Trump get into office due to ignorance of the masses and outdated beliefs in mythological deities we should all be working on surviving and prospering not hoping some great sky being is going to step in and make things better. How many millions more must die befoe people realize it is all bullshit there is no god that only talks to some of the worst humans on the planet they only want control and profit. Start with taxing the churches use that money to help those who need it because these churches do not

Was Trump elected because of theology? I really don’t think so—Trump was elected by a broad spectrum of Americans across the country of varying religious opinions.

Trump leans toward secularism, saying that he fixes his own mistakes without involving God. Trump was elected because he out-politicked his rival. The only evangelical Christian in the race was Hillary Clinton.

I keep pointing that out but no one has ever offered a response.

People leave religion when they perceive it to be causing them more personal discomfort than it's worth. Because people are conditioned to think they couldn't possibly function without it, the notion that they would be better off without the religious cruft is not their first thought, or even their third thought.

I left my religion of origin because its teachings not only didn't benefit me with the promised protection, wisdom and blessing, but almost exactly the opposite. After I left it, I saw to my chagrin how much it contributes to the suffering in the world. Up to that point I would not have credited one of those millions of dead to religion, or at least not to "true" religion (which is to say, my religion).

Not sure that trump was a result of that. It’s not self evident to me which would have been better. I can only hope the next election offers something better for all of us.

Trump was not elected he was appointed

@NormanKickery under US Law he was elected
