Noble in ways, but also aloof and elitist. His desire to float above controversy rather than fight effectively for what's right is part of the reason we're where we are.
And that he has kept to his lucrative book and speaking deals and relaxing with playboys on their yachts (that photo of him with Richard Branson right after leaving office said it all) rather than breaking with "protocol" and defending his own legacy, I think history will judge one day.
