Yeah that's been out there awhile. The world is full of confused people.

More intriguing to me is the mention on this feed of Fox signing Donna Brazile as a commentator. She is raising the same argument I've been hearing a fair bit of, that Fox listeners don't hear enough of the Democratic perspective. There has been criticism of the DNC pulling presidential debates away from Fox. A prominent Democratic legislator was on Morning Joe today explaining in terms similar to Brazile's why he grants a lot of interviews to Fox.

I'm not sure what I think about this. The DNC was warned stridently by some Democrats that Fox was setting a trap, that it couldn't be trusted to play fair in hosting debates. I can see both sides of the argument, but haven't had time to really dig into it. Supposedly a lot of Democrats watch Fox in the South, it's the only thing you can see up on the screen at work in some places (e.g. restaurants in conservative areas) and that Democrats should have a presence there or you're just ceding a wide swath of the population to the GOP propaganda machine.

On the other hand I don't know that Democratic perspective are ever really presented on Fox as anything but caricatures for purpose of ridicule. There are a couple of okay journalists on Fox (e.g., Chris Wallace) but they seem to be there to make a plausible argument that they do any journalism at all.

I'm on the fence. Anyone care to sway me?

As a main stream Conservative, I watch Fox as much as CNN or CBS. The show I like the most is 5 at 5.. (can you guess when it comes on? ?) They have Juan Williams as a co-host, and he's great. He is the staunch Democrat of the show that gives the Democrat perspective. I enjoy when the other shows bring on Democrats to do interviews as well to hear their side, and see if they can come to an understanding with the host. Actually, sometimes they do. I rarely see this on CNN or MSNBC ..

@Captain_Feelgood Perhaps it's hard to separate the news shows from the newstainment shows on Fox. Hannity et al are so clownish and get so much coverage that one naturally assumes that the journalism standards are correspondingly low across the board. Yet I know Chris Wallace and Shep Smith have been allowed to take Trump to task. Fox has, in my view, gotten a well-deserved reputation as "state TV", but maybe I will try to give the show you mention a shake.

As for CNN and MSNBC, I'm not satisfied with either, but find them more reality-based. It's hard for me to imagine how anyone can be sanguine about Trump's conduct, or consider it overlookable in the service of "higher" ideological goals.

Sometimes I catch BBC World News Today just to see how the rest of the planet is wrestling with what's going on in 'Murica. That can be an interesting perspective too.

Trump has his own little army of propaganda trolls (aside from the Russians). They are likely responsible for this.
