When our mountain gets a smooth cloud cap like the one in your pic above the other clouds it means our weather is about to change. Love the pic.

It is striking and even though I don't think you can call black and white a true reflection of reality, it has some quality of its own that is very attractive. It's probably this:

chiaroscuro

the treatment of light and shade in drawing and painting.
an effect of contrasted light and shadow.

this is actually how it looked.same digital camera I use for all of my other photos.
