How much more can the earth take? I feel as if humans have dug their own graves...
We are doomed with allowing big chemical companies manipulate our food production..and basically destroy our natural rights to having a safe trustworthy food production system...the average person is doomed to consume gmos and pesticide riddled produce...meanwhile the bees and every other natural insect that is apart of the ecosystem is dying and becoming extinct...while the government has blind eyes because they sold us out to Monsanto and DuPont.. Who make billions of dollars to basically profit off the mass destruction of our natural environment...
I have found that Vodka martinis mitigate the sadness for a short time.
We are beyond the point of no-return for how we live today. The tundra is melting. The glaciers are melting. The ice caps are melting.
Humanity will survive. And the planet will repopulate what we have destroyed. Sad for all those who will live through the next 100 years.
Long term the planet cannot sustain the food supply with the population growth. The oceans are over-fished, the chemicals you mentioned have allowed for production to meet current demand, but have come at a cost. In my opinion food will be quite different in the future. Artificial meat, greater consumption of insects, are all options-but the status quo won't be.
Actually it is a lie that gmos and altered foods provide more yield...
