It's a fleet of alien spacecraft, hidden by a smoke-screen. At the bottom, one can see a scout ship detaching itself from the mother ship.

most of the time they don't even bother with smoke screens. you can see the craft hovering in place for hours near here Oh and I can see Roswell from my kitchen window
