Comey: Imagine if it was Obama and Iran, not Trump and Russia [politico.com]

“Close your eyes. Again, change the names. Let me make one up for you,” said Comey, whom Trump fired in 2017. “The Iranians — this is totally made up — the Iranians interfere in the election to help elect Barack Obama because they think they’ll get a better nuclear deal from him. And during that election an Obama aide meets with the Iranians and talks about the dirt they have that will help Obama get elected. And the FBI finds out about that. We should not investigate that?”

And imagine during that election an Obama aides, children, advisers, lawyers, and business partners meets with the Iranians and talks about the dirt they have that will help Obama get elected. Every single one of them proceeds to lie about those meetings.

Imagine if it was Reagan and Iran. Oh yeah... it was. Or if it was Nixon and Vietnam. Oh yeah... it was. And Republicans: Did. Not. Care. One of the masterminds of Reagan’s treason is currently running the NRA (Oliver North) and the guy who got everybody off the hook for it is our current Attorney General.

Anyone who says Republicans aren’t corrupt either doesn’t pay attention to history or is a straight up cult member. It’s ridiculous that people haven’t caught on to the fact that the GOP commits straight up treason every 20 years or so.

Who flies rebel flags? Republicans.

Who defends confederate monuments (aka participation trophies)? Republicans.

Who appointed a special counsel to investigate whether jimmy Carter was improperly profiting from the peanut farm that had been in his family for five generations but doesn’t care at all about Trumps hotels? Republicans.

Who appointed a special prosecutor to investigate a Clinton real estate deal and found nothing so they fixated on a consensual sexual affair then released a 400 page report about it to the public less than a week after the special counsel concluded it? Republicans.

Do they care about the current presidents shady real estate deals? NO. Do they care about the current presidents sexual escapades? NO.

Corruption exists in the United States and it is embodied in the modern day Republican Party. There is no cause I have seen that would make them ever put the interests of the US ahead of the interest of their party. They serve themselves first, big business second, and the rest of us not at all.
