I, for the most part, had the same up-bringing except every few years my Mom would take my two siblings and my Dad and I to Sunday school / church. That would happen on Sundays for a few weeks then stop for a couple years. I didn't know it until adulthood but Dad was never into religion at all and just went to appease Mom. Mom virtually never talked about religion and when I got older she seemed surprised that I did not identify as a Christian.

I was forced not to go. The church asked my grandparents to stop bringing me to church cause they could tell nothing they said or did sank in. Plus, they didn't appreciate me bringing in my rated M Wolverine comics and sharing them with all the other kids in Sunday school..

My mom had a very bad experience with church growing up so we did not attend church regularly. I remember feeling embarrassed and looked down upon because we didn’t go to church. I started at 18 when I was supposedly saved going to church and attended for 30 years, I do hate the fact that if you missed church people would look at you as some sort of sinner and something wrong with you and if you do go to church then you’re special.

I was forced to go but didn’t pay any attention to the priest.
