It’s something we all need to be aware of. The world has turned its back on these people who have been displaced in favour of the Israeli State. It is a shameful situation, and Gaza is currently suffering once again from an Israeli embargo...they are literally penned in on a small strip of land, with Israel on three sides and the Mediterranean Sea on the fourth. Israel controls the port of Gaza and can stop all shipping, as it is at the present time. It’s intolerable that our governments keep supporting Israel, and call the Palestinians terrorists. All they want is a homeland, one which was taken from them by the Western powers after WW2 and given to the Jews to make the new state of Israel. Most of these Jews were refugees from Europe who had fled the Nazi terror....they had suffered a great wrong, yes, and this was an appeasement to salve consciences., however, it should never have been at the expense of displacing the Palestinian people.
“As nightfall does not come all at once, neither does oppression, In both instances there is a twilight when everything remains seemingly unchanged. And it is in such twilight that we all must be most aware of change in the air---however slight---lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness.” – Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas to the Young Lawyers Section of the Washington State Bar Association, September 10, 1976
