Don't know if there are ony old skool hip[-hop fans out there, but I always wondered why intelligent rap was replaced by gangster rap... Which I thought was unfortunate... Guys like Kool Moe Dee, Chuck-D and KRS-1 were highlighting actual issues and using intelligent lyrics... :/

The days of Public Enemy. I guess its easier to sell records that talk about drinking 40's, degrade women as ho' and talk about Technines shooting up each other. Less thinking and more fantasizing.
