So much for the cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris.
The spire has collapsed, and it's still burning.
Oddly, other than lamenting the loss of historic architecture, I don't feel bad about a church burning down. Willing to bet it is going to be attributed to
the construction that was underway.

It was built in the 14th century. The Holy Inquisitions were going strong then I wonder how many of those Art objects belonged to murdered Jews.

Excellent point.
Another reason for not lamenting it's destruction.

Think of it not as a "religious" building. But as a testament to the skill of the masons and carpenters who built it 850 years ago. I hate seeing historic sites, archaeological sites, libraries, monuments, etc destroyed, either by natural causes, or human ignorance!

It's just "stuff".
Like I've said, several times, I hold very little sentimentality over such things.

I am sorry for it’s historical, architectural, and art value which is lost , but not as a church

I still feel worse about the destruction of the Library of Alexandria.

Tragic!

We have very different definitions of what is "tragic" and what is not.
Then again, I'm not terribly sentimental about buildings.

I saw it a number of years ago and it is/was impressive architecture

@BudFrank That's nice and all, but it's just a building.
Like I said before, I'm not terribly sentimental about buildings.
What was really making me laugh/pissing me off, was all the talk about saving the "artifacts".
Like they actually had a piece of real wood from
Christ's cross. Religious "relics" are a fucking joke.

I was there a few years ago. It was beautiful.
