I had settled in with a new procedural by an author I hadn't read before. This was the first in the series and seemed promising. I got into the second chapter when BAM, I get hit over the head by god-references. F#ck, I had been struck by a stealth Xtian novel cunningly disguised as a mystery. I HATE when that happens! When I worked in the stacks, I kept my hand in circulation and had less chance of this occurring. From now on, I'm checking the imprint of every new author, just to see this doesn't take place again. Fool me once.....

It seems that a lot of media that is intended to teach things about God is really badly made, like since it's got a high and holy purpose, they don't really care if the actors can act or if the writing is good.

Jesus-smuggling.

What was the book and the author?
