not unique to the israeli army. every army attracts a number of psychopaths. including the US army.

@powder ,
the israelis are drafted into the army. some may volunteer. the US army is all volunteers.
i can't really understand why anyone would volunteer to join any army.
i was in the navy & saw some of the world. got out & then joined the airforce, basically, to learn a trade. i never would have considered joining the army.
