I've read iot. It isnt' a good book. In fact it is very boring and /bad/poor story telling.

In Colonial, and Early America, most people had 'good books'. Unfortunately, illiteracy was high, and most 'good book' owners didn't know how to read them.In his younger days, the Shawnee Chieftan, Tecumseh, used to visit White settler families, and amaze them by reading their own 'good books' to them. He would later earn their ire by trying to forge a sort of 'United States of Indigenous Tribes', to prevent the White settlers from penetrating farther westwards.

I guess he would have come across as 'a uppity Injun'.

Interesting. I had not heard that.

To be fair to it, if there were no concept of a need for salvation, there would have been no perceived need for the book.
