"WJZ says anchorwoman Mary Bubala is out in wake of her question about race, gender of recent Baltimore mayors"

"We’ve had three female, African American mayors in a row,” Bubala said in setting up her question. “They were all passionate public servants. Two resigned, though. Is this a signal that a different kind of leadership is needed to move Baltimore City forward?”

Would she ever in a million years have said the same thing about three white men mayors?

She's been in the news business this long and didn't realize what she said was racist and sexist?!

I hate to see her lose her job over this yet it is a ratings business and if your audience isn't feeling the love for one of your news anchors then they have to go.

Wow.
Yeah, she should definitely have lost her job over saying that on air.
Or anywhere else, really.

It's bad enough when men question the legitimacy of women in leadership roles,
but when women do it to one another, and when it takes on racial connotations,
it's exponentially worse.
