That initial digging ( online, on the phone, the first meeting, and the next few ) - to try and discover if there is enough between me and someone else, to build something solid on.
Sometimes - especially if there is a mutual sizzle there, one can be distracted and mislead for awhile.
Uses up time !

Anxiety. I usually get my hopes up too much. I strain to be fun and entertaining. I strain at "reading" her feelings and receptivity.

@Seeker3CO Good point. Yes, I'm also wanting to see if we are compatible (not necessarily if she is good enough).
Caution: I think most people are wanting to see if they are "good enough for me" that they are too judgemental and not accepting of others. This usually weeds out almost every body.
Can my heart be broken again.

I'm better at accepting that fact for the forth time. There is no one and only for anyone in this world. Yet I have been able to build a bigger and better ultimate realationships each time. The challenge with my recent lover is she is Catholic, although the holly spirit kind, like a soft Christain. Really dumb about other Religions and politics, it can be a good thing, lol.
