This guy showed up on my back yard, trying to hide amongst a group of ground feeding pigeons, four days ago. He's a Chukar Partridge native to Asia, but introduced to the Rocky Mountains for upland bird hunting. The bird is hilarious, clucking like a cross between a chicken and a duck. Not sure how it got to my yard, but I'm thrilled it did.

i used to see them a lot in Eastern Washington.

@Byrdsfan I believe they've cross-bred in some areas, and deliberately causing them to do so has been made illegal in the UK for some reason or other.
