Government, to Govern basically to rule over...here in lies the problem. We are foolishly electing these Governors to tell us how to live our lives while bleeding us for every cent they can. The way it should be is, We Hire people to (Manage our Affairs) doing so within the guidelines set down by us. the people/the bosses. If they do a good job for a reasonable salary/ the average national and or Provincial wage standard they keep their job.
If they keep up the good work they should remain in their position indefinitely. Approval of all bills should be done quarterly by referendum via computer voting by the people. For a bill to be passed the majority must be 75 %.
If the Manager or any staff is found delinquent in their duties or simply doing a bad job we should fire them by referendum. There should also be a special investigations/monitoring unit to watch over the management and staff of those hired to manage the national and provincial and local affairs.
PS: There should be no organized political parties/ no politics at all in fact. It is like hiring a CEO from the best possible source.

We’ve prettymuch got that.. across the (US) nation… Government is how we govern ourselves, and the system we’ve conjured is currently, if apparently the best we can do.

...had a ‘governor’ on the massive Penske truck I drove across America. Hated it! Wouldn’t let me go over 70 mph ..until I hit 100 coming off The Rockies on I-70 😀 But you know what -- those ‘laws’ that aren’t necessarily needed for all of us save us from those who do need them..

The Western US states have all kinds of provisions for ‘self rule’ in the form of referendums, initiatives and ballot measures, let alone special elections for recalls. Now residing in an ‘old state,’ I miss those ..kinda (they can and are abused by special interest groups with the means to place a shitty idea on the ballot then pour out-of-state money into a campaign to pass it).

As far as ‘State Governors,’ they’re obviously the ‘Presidential equivalent’ within their states, representing ‘their state’ to nation & world. Sometimes quick, heartfelt decisions need made by a human and not some ..bean-counter waiting for a political consortium to give him/ her a directive...

Given the occupant of our White House, it’s hideously apparent our system is far from perfect.. But, we’ve still the power to correct it - far from the totalitarian systems in place in both Russia and China, for example.

As for ‘Political parties,’ we’ve a binary winner-take-all system. Perhaps it should be Parliamentary …. And maybe it would have been ..had we not been so pissed & screwed by the one we fought for independence. We do not govern by coalitions, damn it… If so, the Atheist/ Agnostic Party might have a say in US politics 🙂
