I was born in 1970. Does anyone else remember the biblical hysteria growing up around the year 1999 and it was to be the end of the world. I remember many preachers predicted it when I was a child.

There has been numerous biblical hysterics repeatedly in history. Believers seem to run in cycles and start they hysteria over and over again. They are fixated on the end times that has no real date and is supported by nothing more than superstitions

I remember that a lot of preachers used a passage in the bible that said the world would last a thousand years and when it turned to year 2000 that meant thousands of years and so it meant the end of the world. More crazy stuff.

Y2K. A lot of the hysteria involved the Internet and worldwide computer systems. The original computers programs were not written to account for a change in millennia. It was feared that business and economy workdwide would collaspe because computers could not address the change. It was recognized then how intimately world economies were reliant upon the world wide web.
