Well said. I had to make sure I knew what the word aggrandize meant so I looked it up: "to enhance the reputation of (someone) beyond what is justified by the facts." So much is romanticized.

Ah - but peace is not profitable to the war machine ....

To bring up how much money is spent on the military in the U.S. is liable to get a person's patriotism called to question these days.
