One thing I don't like about religion: the rigged games.

Take prayer for example. If someone else prays for you, and things go well, they're happy because God did something for you. If they pray for you, and it doesn't work out, they can say it was your fault, being an agnostic, for God not doing that thing. If you ask them not to pray for you, and it doesn't work out—even moreso your fault for not being open to God. 'What did you expect?' And if they don't pray for you and it still works, they can still say it was God blessing you, and maybe lament that God would give benefits to the "wicked."

I just hate epistemologies that are so clearly playing with loaded dice. Why are these beliefs "unshakable"? Because they are divorced from reality.

God has a great gig. It's all upside and no responsibility. If things go well, praise god. If things don't go well or as advertised or predicted, then it's impertinent or impatient or selfish to demand an instant answer, or it's all your fault somehow (or Satan's fault, but he can't do anything unless you "give place" to him), or any number of a dozen other things that are definitely Not God's Fault.
