A Cruel Truth or a Gentle Lie?
One of the reasons I became and maintain my atheism is because I would rather know the truth, even if it isn't particularly pleasant. The truth is, we don't know if there is a god, or gods, angels, demons, or flying spaghetti monsters.
I believe that one reason people who are atheist or agnostic that return to religion would rather live a comforting falsity than accept the hard reality of our existence.
