I guess I say child-like because as a child one wants control and one way to achieve that is through the effects of jealousy (whether physical like beating or abuse, to mental like mind games or depression). The depression aspect I am looking at from a self pitying point of view. But these ways are responses to jealousy. Does this mean that jealousy is a primal emotion?

@VineetHonkan I don't know. It generally seems to come from insecurities, and I'm not sure that is a primal feeling. All of us, even the most confident have found ourselves in a situation or place we felt insecure. Hell if I know.
