Who's an introvert and likes mountains?
"Extroverts Prefer Plains, Introverts Like Mountains. People who live in mountainous U.S. states are more introverted than their fellow Americans in the flatter states. That curious link between topography and personality is proposed by a recent article in the Journal of Research in Personality."
This guy right here ๐ I moved to the plains for college and did find the area to be much more densely populated n sociable. I liked how windy it was and how much of the sky you could see for stars, but I missed the scenery, landmarks and perspective of the mountains. The isolation of the mountains is also responsible for a lot of the Appalachian accent and antiquated manner of speaking around here. Appalachian English was so isolated and remained so unchanged that itโs currently the oldest dialect of English still spoken; Shakespearean scholars come here to study the way we talk because itโs the closest to what it would have been in Willy Shakesโ day.
Similar situation in the mountainous areas of New Mexico. Modern roads didnโt get built until the late 40โs-50โs.
The Spanish spoken there is similar to what was spoken in Spain 400 years ago
Hmm - Iโm a flaming introvert and bought a home at 6,000โ - the continental divide is visible from my back porch.
But I work in North Dakota.
