With the 50th anniversary of the moon landing next month, thought I would share something I have kept all those years. This is the special insert from the Milwaukee Journal from Aug 10, 1969. I was all of 12 at the time but already a fan of anything space related. Can only load 10 of 12 page sides but can at least show most of them. Too large for the scanner so used phone to photograph. Was an exciting time for a 12 year old space fan.

I remember watching on TV, and being disappointed that nothing exciting happened. 🙂

I remember watching the landing on my great great aunts 12" B&W television which was basically a free standing cupboard with a screen and two large knobs inside the doors.
It was an extraordinary experience for a young boy obsessed with science fiction to see fantasy become fact.
