Its been a problem for 50 years - but past admins did next to nothing to fix the problem. You would have thought that 911 would have opened their eyes about securing the border - but it didn't. Just pathetic

Right. I was raised in CA and remember immigration being one of the first political issues I became aware of as a kid. This has gone on for too long.

...avoiding links.. The harshness and immediacy of the current enforcement no doubt reflects their fear and concern over a relatively small window of opportunity to achieve serious change. They know it won’t be lasting, but have wanted to send a clear and serious message - ‘what’s been allowed before is no longer tolerated.’

Too bad we’ve (the USA) ignored this problem so long it took a shocking presidential election to put in place an administration bold enough to take it on. Had the moderate party supported serious & sustainable border enforcement decades to years ago.. what’s happening now wouldn’t be. As is, it’s come to a head … and bursting it is ugly..
