How Many U.S. Presidents were Lawyers?

[bbc.com]

A president must be at least 35 years old, a "natural born US citizen" and a US resident for at least 14 years, according to the US Constitution - the country's founding charter.

Most candidates have a background in politics and have held an elected position, like senator, governor, vice-president, or member of Congress.

But they also occasionally come from the military, like former Army General Dwight Eisenhower, or the business world like Donald Trump, a former real estate developer and reality TV star.

Most modern candidates hold university degrees and over half the US presidents graduated in law.

Most politicians are law school grads, who quickly realized there was more money to be had, faster, in politics!

Having worked for lawyers in some capacity most of my adult life, I find most of them to be maligned by media and Hollywood...the ones I worked for were some of the best people I ever had the privilege to know...super intelligent, caring, honest to a fault, analytical, unbiased, excellent sense of fairness, lifelong learners and researchers, and decent men and women.

They had social skills, warped sense of humors, and would give the shirt off their back to help and the funds to do it.

I would gladly have any public service person with those traits...

Gee, maybe because they're involved in passing laws for the country? 😁. You had to be qualified for your job just as I did. You would hope the supposedly most powerful person in the world should also have to be qualified for theirs. Some federal background, to help with foreign policy etc. I'm pretty sure the current example proves that you just can't be president just because you want to. As an aside, for those of you that hate her, just because she's not a nice person, Hillary was the most qualified person to ever run for the office. No one has ever spent eight years in the White House, been a senator, AND been Secretary of State. No one better qualified, hands down.
