The River Walk in Pendleton is a source of enjoyment and exercise for me. I take my dogs for frequent walks that keep the three of us both happy and healthy.

I have been taking them for a walk around 10 am but this morning, with the day looking like it would be a little warm and the asphalt the dogs walk on warm enough to bother them, we went early. So at 7 am we were down there. I am so happy we were early. The later walks had some wildlife but this early one was so much better.

We saw a couple of flocks of geese with their young, a blue heron, an osprey and two king fishers squabbling over a fishing hole. The top of the list was something I've not seen on this walk before though I've seen signs of them- footprints in the mud. A mother raccoon was just across the river from me trying to catch one of the many fish leaping out of the water near her. She didn't seem to mind us and kept on fishing for some time while we watched. She caught a small fish and then repaired to some thick bushes where I believe she had some young. What a great walk!

I love those walks in the morning but have problems of getting out of bed early. Thank you for the photo.

Pendleton is near me in UK. It's where the witches came from.
