It would be a stretch to think there could have been anyone worse.

The US Republican Party has been the preferred party for American bourgeois philistines for 150 years. All Republican Presidents since Lincoln, have been extremely stupid, or extremely corrupt. Trump has proven to be the stupidest of all, thus far. But there have been many others. Ike Eisenhower was so dumb, he had to ask his CIA director how to answer questions posed by foreign leaders. Gerald Ford was also pretty dumb, and often tripped over his own shoelaces. I used to think Reagan was pretty dumb, until George W Bush came along (who was dumber than a box of rocks). Now, we have the bellowing, orange hippopotamus! Whom, we can only hope, is but a temporary nightmare!
