Trump personifies the term "dumb luck."
The importance of luck in life cannot be overstated. It's what makes the difference between success and failure. Hard work, talent, and resolve are all great but will only get you so far. It's luck that puts anyone over the top.
The trouble with luck is that it's random. People will suggest that you can make your own luck but that's not entirely the truth. You can try and facilitate your own luck but whether or not it happens for you is another story entirely. Luck, by its very nature, is arbitrary.
That said, what is it about Donald Trump that makes him so lucky? It was purely by chance that he was born into a wealthy family who provided him with massive financial resources for the asking, it was as a result of that luck that he was picked up by Hollywood to host a hugely successful TV game show, he's been fortunate enough to remain relatively untouched by any accountability for his lifetime of being a liar and a cheat, that his undeserved celebrity status enabled him to parlay his fame into the presidency, that, as president, he remains untouched by accountability for his endless corruption and daily scandals and deceit. Each lucky break he's had had led to the next. No matter how hateful and repugnant this scumbag is, he remains wealthy, protected and in power.
Nixon resigned in disgrace for just one criminal scandal while Clinton was impeached for a blowjob for crissakes but Trump has a laundry list of offenses for which he always gets a pass. Each new outrage gets lost in the wake of the next one, and the next one, and the next one.
I predict his luck will hold out til the end and he'll either escape all accountability or if he's indicted, he'll die of natural causes before he can be made to pay for his crimes.
He's a narcissist and a sociopath kissed by Fortuna. The answer I'd like to know is why?

There is no answer to that particular WHY question, as the world doesn't operate according to a plan or some system that's supposed to be "fair". Luck IS random, and part of that randomness is that it tends to be concentrated unevenly at times, including making bad people overall lucky and good people overall unlucky.
To me, Trump is a gifted grifter, without any sort of conscience or empathy to trouble, burden or distract him. He has simply run amok in the world leaving a trail of human wreckage behind him. He is laser focused on narcissistic supply, which helps him in the same way that, say, a businessman laser focused on making the best possible product or making his customers as happy as possible succeeds.
He's seldom held to account because he's such an outlier that he totally confuses sane people and systems that aren't really configured to take someone like him into account. The national government is a prime example; there are many assumptions in its setup that assume at least some basic level of good faith, integrity, caring for others and industrious and so it's long been ripe for someone of bad faith, dishonesty, complete self-centeredness and sloth to take advantage of it. In fact it has happened before, but Trump is the perfect storm in this regard.

He’s a parasite, feeding on the labor and resources of others. Yes, he’s become a meida prop, if too dumb to know it. Financially, he’s a loser, a big-time loser. Otherwise, he’d release those impressive tax returns...
And yes, he morphed from a media prop to a political prop.. if there’s any difference. His life-sentence of Narcissism will keep him from admitting what a failed human he is. We’ve no doubt had previous presidents with narcissistic traits ...but not to the degree of blatant disregard for multiple segments of society as I’ve witnessed with this one.
He is a conscienceless huckster filling the role our corporate overseers designed in order to guide the US populous toward freeing them of social responsibility and allowing their continued consumption of the planet's resources. trump's a prop, their puppet ~

Every word of that is true which just deepens the iexplicable run of luck that has enabled this completely useless and morally and ethically bankrupt piece of shit to enjoy a lifetime of wealth, privelege, celebrity, success, and power. That's the question my post raised. That he's a vile scumbag is a given.

I see nothing to celebrate for him.. Will he be embossed on a US coin, or go down as the worst president in US history? I’m sure even he knows the answer to that … it’s why he surrounds himself with dwindling sycophants and ‘rallies’ of inbred white trash.. It’s not luck, he’s the end result of corporate influence on US politics, merely the presidential place-holder they’ve needed.
Good luck? If anything - it’s US shooting ourselves in the head … then calling it bad luck. But if we’re collectively no better than that - we’re no better than him.
